March 30, 1986 – December 12, 2022

Anna Iskandar Martinez (36) was born in Jakarta, Indonesia March 30, 1986 and passed from this world on December 12, 2022 following a courageous battle with cancer. It was Anna’s kind heart and absolute warrior-like attitude that fueled her relentless fight for life during this time and she truly finished the battle as the victor.

As a child she moved to the United States and lived in a variety of places from San Francisco, California to Old Bridge, New Jersey. In the last years of her life, Las Vegas, Nevada was her home.

Anna graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s in Management and Marketing from Golden Gate University. For a time, she worked as a Jeweler but spent most of her career in the travel industry working for Virgin America, Alaska and finally Southwest Airlines. It was at Southwest that she met the love of her life, Daniel Martinez. They were Married June 4, 2021.

From the moment Anna and Daniel met, they were completely head over heels for one another, rarely spending any moment apart. Anna was a Disney fan, and was especially fond of Beauty and the Beast. She also loved dogs and was a huge fan of watching funny dog videos online - she couldn’t get enough of them. Not to be outshined by dog videos was her cat Kira who brought her a lot of joy and companionship.

Anna had a quiet way in large crowds but her infectious and beautifully warm smile could still win a group over. However, it was the one-on-one moments with family and friends that she really enjoyed. She was a true light to all who knew her, and although the world is dimmer without her in it, the glow of her spirit in the hearts of those who love her burns brighter than ever.

One of Anna’s proudest moments was marrying into the Martinez family and becoming one of the Martinez sisters-in-law. She considered it an honor to be accepted so lovingly into this exclusive sisterhood. Outside of being with close friends and family, Anna loved traveling with Daniel, more specifically food travel. She loved a good meal anywhere in the world, but she didn’t need a plateful to get the full flavor of the meal. In fact, while she loved food, she had the nickname of “eats like bird” for the small portions she ate. More than anything, she simply loved being in the comfort of her home with Daniel, friends, and family sharing a meal, listening to the conversation and feeling content.

Anna is preceded in death by Ellywati Wijaya (grandmother), Carlos Martinez (father-in-law), Zenyata Tate (closest friend), and Kira (the Cat), all of whom will certainly keep her company on the other side.

Anna is survived by her husband, Daniel; parents, Raymond and Anita Iskandar; siblings, Agnes (Danny) McGaheran, and Anthony; aunt, Liza (Greg) Cantel; cousins, Britney and Dylan Cantel.

A memorial service will be held Monday, December 19, 2022 at 10:00 am at Davis Funeral Home, 1401 S. Rainbow Blvd, Las Vegas, Nevada.
