Annie Bell was born April 7, 1930, and entered her eternal rest on August 30, 2021. She was one of thirteen children born to the proud parents of Tella and Beasie Duncan in Tallulah, LA. Her parents taught Annie and siblings the importance of hard work, education, integrity, faith and honoring the Lord. While growing up on a farm, they were showered with love and empowered to think positive, be creative, kind, and honest.
She accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and joined Bethlehem Baptist Church. Annie was determined to attend college and that determination earned her good grades and a basketball scholarship to Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA. There she met and was joined in marriage to Thomas Jefferson. From this union they had one son, Sonny. Both proceeded her in death.
After graduating from college, Annie Bell worked as an elementary school teacher in Tallulah for four years. She later accepted a teaching position in Baton Rouge, whereby, she motivated children to learn for more then 20 years. (Both in Sunday school and the educational system). After retiring from teaching, she worked in home healthcare for many years, until she retired.
She had a huge heart as she nurtured her niece, Gloria during her early years and in college. Later after the passing of her sister, Annica who proceeded her in death. She cared for two of her young children, Angela (niece) and Maruin (nephew).
While living in Las Vegas, she attended Living Grace with Gloria, until her health deteriorated. She was inspired by Pastor Richard and listened to his sermons/messages and Bible studies online (Facebook), thanks to her loving caregiver, Claudia.
She leaves to cherish her memories one sister, Rosa Kendrick (Luther, deceased) Las Vegas; one brother in-law, Tom Adams (Beasie, deceased) Covina CA; sister in-law Anna Duncan (Talla JR, deceased) Spokane WA; sister in-law, Dorsey Lee (Jesse, deceased) Compton CA; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
