Anthony Joseph Riville Jr. 74. Our beloved Brother left this earth on Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022 after his battle with cancer.
Anthony (Tony) was born on October 5,1947 in Easton PA to Anne and Anthony Riville. In 1962 he moved with his family to Fontana CA. It was there that he attending Fontana High School, getting his GED, then enlisted in the United States Army on January 29,1965 to serve his country. After completion of his basic training, Tony was assigned to the 25th Infantry Division as a combat engineer. His division was the first to be sent to the Republic of Vietnam. His unit was assigned to Pleiku, in the central highlands, where he served in combat for 18 months. He received on honorable discharge on January 26.1968, returning to his home in Fontana . He was a proud Veteran, who found solace and comradery with other Veterans he met through Veteran Affairs.
Throughout his life he lived in various cities In southern California and and his last home was in Las Vegas Nevada.
Tony loved spending time with all of his family, but he had a special bond with his nephew Jake. He loved going to the East coast to see his younger brother, his favorite Aunt and Uncle and many cousins.
He enjoyed listening to "The Blues" and was quite knowledgeable about various artists. He also liked luxury cars, playing poker and playing the ponies! Mostly, he found joy in his sweet dog, Bella. He loved taking her to the dog park with his good friend and roommate Sam. They would take her on walks and taught her many cute tricks which he often videoed and sent to us!
Tony is survived by his Brothers Ron and Michael Riville, Sister Annette (Tunie) Michalovich and her husband Michial. He also was survived by his niece Jessica, Nephews- Brandon, Mike and Jake, numerous great nieces and nephews, his Aunt Marion, Uncle Sneeks and many cousins.
He is predeceased by his Parents, Anne and Anthony Riville and his Sister Linda Reaves.
A Celebration of is Life will be held at a later date to be followed by interment in the National Cemetery in San Diego CA.
Tony will be missed....
