He graduated from John Adams High School in Cleveland, Ohio in 1966 and went on to serve in the U.S. Army. Shortly thereafter, he pursued his passion for singing as a way to uplift others. Whether touring locally, nationally or internationally, Per Mr. Benny Cherry, “I met Benny in 1992 when he came to Vegas with a group called Second Wind…He started singing with a group called Smoothe…Tribute to the Temptations… and then with one of The Platters groups. He performed with Touch of Silk on and off for about 12 years until his death.” Although he enjoyed singing, dancing, watching sports and playing bingo, Benny dedicated his life to Christ and was baptized at God’s House International Ministries on October 21, 2018 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Two memorial services for Benny Lee Taylor are scheduled. The first one will be held on June 17th at Coronado Drive Apartments in Henderson, Nevada.
