Clara Betsakos

On Sunday, January 17th 2021, Clara “Lucy” Luz Betsakos, loving wife and mother of four children, passed away at the age of 73.

Lucy was born on August 8, 1947 in Guatemala City, Guatemala. She made her way to Los Angeles, California in her twenties and worked to bring her two sons Oswaldo and Eswin to the United States. Lucy met her future husband Nicholas Betsakos Jr. in Los Angeles, and the family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1977. On October 3rd, 1981 Lucy and Nick married. They raised Oswaldo, Eswin and their daughter, Nicole.

Lucy had a passion for flora and fauna, she liked tending to her garden of various flowers and plants, along with watching for hummingbirds and butterflies. She enjoyed everything in life to the fullest, from all sorts of music to trying different restaurants and loving to travel. Lucy was known for her bright personality, her hearty laugh, her quick wit, and her compassionate spirit.

Lucy was preceded in death by her sons Giovanni and Eswin, and her mother Mercedes. Her husband Nick has recently joined her in peace. She is survived by her son Oswaldo, her daughter Nicole, her grandchildren Gabriela and Noah, and her sisters Isabel and Olga
