In Loving Memory of Daniel Vernon Smith

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel Vernon Smith, who passed away on August 8, 2026, at the age of 68.

Danny was born on October 6, 1957, in Lincoln, Nebraska, and lived a life filled with love, kindness, and devotion to family and friends. His memory will live on through the stories, moments, and experiences shared by those who knew him.

Daniel is survived by his brother, Douglas Smith of Koh Samui, Thailand; and his nieces, Shonna Smith of Moreno Valley, California, and Stacy Anchondo of Rio Vista, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donna M. Smith and Darrell V. Smith.

In accordance with his wishes, no formal service will be held. His ashes will be scattered in nature, where he found peace and happiness, so that he may forever cast a line in the waters he loved. Family and friends are invited to remember him in their own way and celebrate the many memories he leaves behind.

Danny will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
