David Robert Kelly, 72, of Edinburgh, Scotland passed away on January 18th, 2022 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Dave was born in Edinburgh, Scotland to David Kelly and Alexandrina Gray on July 13th, 1949.

Dave served in the British Air Force, and graduated from Cambridge University. He pursued a career in music as a singer/songwriter with Derek Jeffrey in his Christian Rock band ARK, as well as his solo album "Crowning of a Simple Man." Dave was heavily involved in the music industry, working with many of the greats, including Bob Dylan, as his personal advisor during his "Slow Train Coming" tour. He also worked as a consultant in the music, film, TV, and marketing industries for many years. He authored several books, including The Musical Genius of the Beatles, Secret of Chords, Secret of Melody, Secret of Rhyme, Secret of Your Life, and developed the mobile app and game, The World Peace App.

Dave's first wife Lorna Samson joined him in raising their children, Chris and Naomi, until Lorna's and son (Craig's) tragic passing.

After being guided by God's hand, he met Clair Lopez in her hometown of Honolulu, Hawaii, and was married to her in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1981. They shared a beautiful loving marriage lasting 40 long and happy years. Together with Clair, he raised their six children, Chris Kelly, Naomi Saleba, Emiko Picardy, Jonathan Kelly, Azure Kelly, and Blaze Kelly.

Dave was a pastor for Calvary Chapel in Hawaii, and later became part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, in the Desert Breeze Ward and the Rainbow Ward, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Dave is survived by his wife of 40 years, Clair Kelly, by his children Chris Kelly (Carrie), Naomi Saleba, Emiko Picardy, Jonathan Kelly, Azure Kelly, and Blaze Kelly, by his sister Linda Seatter and his brother Graham Kelly, and his grandchildren Naylene Kelly-Huneryager, Christian Saleba, Weston Kelly, Autumn Kelly, Sebastian Saleba, Elius Saleba, and Bellarina.

Dave lived a life of extraordinary faith, strength, and kindness, and provided a rock-solid foundation upon which his family could always depend. He was a beacon of hope, and an inspiration to all who knew him. He sought to spread joy and inspire others through his unparalleled creativity and wisdom. Despite all the praise he received throughout his life, he always remained humble. He loved music, television, films, and stories, and devoted his life to researching and uncovering the secrets of the most successful music and stories, so that he could make those secrets available to the world. Dave was a deep, philosophical thinker, always maintaining an open mind and endeavoring to discover the most profound and important truths of life, so that he could share these truths and spread the love of God.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 26th, 2022, at Las Vegas Cremations. Cremation will follow at Davis Funeral Homes & Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Las Vegas Cremations.
