Edward Joseph Castello, 48
Edward Joseph Castello (Ed) formerly of Gatesville, Texas, passed away on March 4, 2023, in Henderson, Nevada.
Born February 18, 1975, in Long Branch, New Jersey, to Edward Castello and Carolyn Cataldi. Edward was preceded in death by his stepfather, whom he loved and admired, Larry T. Ximinez; Aunt Donna Jean Castello Roberts; his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Ed is survived by his only child, Seth Morgan Castello, of Gatesville, Texas. Ed was a loving and adventurous father who spent many hours with Seth, hunting, fishing, off-roading, grilling, playing with the family dog, riding around in their Willys jeep, and hanging out in the pool. His greatest source of pride and joy was Seth. Ed’s love for Seth has been constant and will be enduring.
Ed was known affectionately as Uncle Eddy by his nieces Maggie, Sophie, Sophia, and Samantha. He was their jokester, instigator, teaser, and fun-loving uncle; who will be greatly mourned by his girls. Ed also had a special bond with niece Kaylee and nephew Colin, during their earlier years.
Edward will be greatly missed by his surviving relatives and many life-long friends. His ex-wife, Rebecca, his parents, sisters Amy and Gina, brothers, Larry, Jason and Ross, his in-laws Ron, Gwen, Ryan, Jamie, Scott, Molly, Gerson, and Leslie; as well as, Jeremy Ryce, Dominick Bonetto, Adrienne Rogers, Garrett Hawthorne and many coworkers from his years of working overseas, that became his “family.”
A private memorial will be held at a later time, in Texas, thanks to the many friends and loved ones who donated to make it possible.
In memory of Edward, please consider donating to any organization that advocates for those who suffer from mental illness.
