Eric Gerstenberger, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on June 8, 2025, in Mesquite, Nevada, at the age of 74. Born on July 3, 1950, in Connecticut, Eric left an indelible mark on all who knew him through his unwavering strength and deep love for his family and friends.

After earning a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and a master's degree in management sciences from the University of Colorado, Eric dedicated over three decades to a career in the government nuclear field, culminating in his retirement in 2001. Following his retirement, he embarked on a new journey as a consultant, where he continued to share his expertise and ensure safety in a critical industry.

In 2021, Eric and his beloved wife, Jane Elizabeth Gerstenberger, relocated from South Carolina to Las Vegas, savoring a new chapter in their lives together. Their marriage endured for 52 wonderful years, a testament to the love and partnership they shared.

Eric’s passions varied widely. He was an avid golfer, tennis player, and bridge enthusiast who also embraced the discipline of karate. His dedication to physical fitness was evident when he proudly ran a marathon at the age of 60, competing in Augusta, Georgia in 2010, where he swam a mile, biked 57 miles, and ran 13 miles. This remarkable accomplishment highlighted not just his physical prowess but also his determination and commitment to personal challenges.

He was also deeply involved with the National Senior Ski Patrol in Wyoming, where he shared his passion for skiing and safety with others.

Eric is survived by his loving wife, Jane, their children Erik G. and Serah Smith, and their grandchildren, Eleria Smith and Nalani Smith. He is also survived by his younger sister, Beth Zucker and her husband Richard; his sister Krissa Bolton and her husband James, along with their children, Robert and Jamie.

He is preceded in death by his middle sister, Lori Pujda, and her son, Michael, who will be remembered fondly alongside Eric.

Eric Gerstenberger leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and pride in his accomplishments, which will continue to inspire those who were privileged to know him. His warmth and exuberance will be missed dearly, but the memories of his vibrant spirit will remain in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
