Joan Aurelia Smith

Joan Aurelia Smith, 88, passed away on July 6th, 2025, in Las Vegas NV.

Joan was born in Roseburg, OR, to Arthur and Aurelia McGhehey on February 25th 1937.

She attended a one room school house until she graduated from Roseburg High School. She never met a stranger. If you knew her, you loved her. She had a love for all games, especially if it included playing for money! Even as times have changed and neighbors don't know each other, she knew everyone on her block. She will be missed by everyone she touched.

Joan is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur McGhehey and Aurelia Billups, and brother, Arthur McGhehey. Her husband Ervin Smith

and 2 sons, Scott Smith and Michael Smith.

Joan is survived by her children, Kathrine Buskey and spouse, Paul, JoAnn Smith, Rebecca Neff and spouse Tim, Gail Louviere and spouse Edwin, Jonathon Smith and spouse Maria, and Jeffery Smith and spouse Melanie, 18 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren.

She asked that we do not have a funeral or sad service. Instead she wanted us to celebrate her life. So, while all her children could be here we did just that at her grand daughter's home on July 12th 2025. I know she was looking down and smiling while enjoying us celebrating her.
