Katherine Lorraine Fahey

Fahey, Katherine Lorraine, age 77, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away in her home, surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, June 3rd, 2023. Born January 17, 1946, in Long Beach, California. Preceded in death by her parents, Irene and John Johnston, brother John Johnston, and sisters Barbara and Carolyn Kaigler. She was survived by her three daughters Kimberly Lorraine Guthrie, Klee Lindel Guthrie, Kelsie Leigh Morris, and son-in-law Paul Morris, along with her beloved grandchildren Keith Arnold Guthrie, Dylan James Guthrie, Keira Ryleigh Morris, and Kyler Ashton Morris. Katherine was a retired driver for Med Ride, and had worked in the Las Vegas community in the service industry for many years prior. Katherine prided herself as a single mother of three girls who lived and dedicated her life to making sure they felt loved, supported, and secure. Once her grandchildren came along, she did the same for them, and they became the apple of her eye. Katherine touched many lives in her time here on Earth, including her beloved friends and even the occasional stranger. She never liked to see people suffer, and when she thought someone needed a helping hand, she was there to make them feel like someone cared. She never judged people in poor situations, she just saw the truth in that they were in despair and simply needed someone to show them love. She often brought homeless people to dinner and actually helped an illegal immigrant find his footing in the USA simply out of the kindness of her heart. She trusted people, and although this sometimes ended up breaking her heart, she had the innocence to give people a chance. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, the color yellow, traveling with her family, and reminiscing about the wild days of her youth, which included Grateful Dead shows, camping in the snow with the love of her life, dancing with her father, and sneaking in to see Elvis Presley with her girlfriend to name a few. There will be no funeral services, however, there will be a celebration of life at the home of Kelsie and Paul Morris on August 5, 2023.
