Margie Irene Cox Tucker Sherrell

Margie Irene Cox Tucker Sherrell, 86, of Las Vegas, passed away on October 15, 2021 in Las Vegas Nevada.

Margie was born in Grand Junction Colorado to Palmer and Rebecca Cox on March 17, 1935.

Margie only went to school to the 8th grade, she started working in the city laundry. She met Leroy in Las Vegas as he was stationed at Nellis Air Force Base. They eloped the first night because she was out past her curfew and knew that her dad would kill her. She stated that if she knew a fool who would marry her, she’d get married so she would have an excuse for her dad. So, Leroy said “I'm your fool”. They were married in 1954 and raised 4 children. She worked for the city laundry in Las Vegas, she was a nurse's aide at Clovis convalescent home in Clovis Ca, dry cleaners in Fresno, Ca and David & Son’s plant in Clovis Ca. She loved coffee, her dog Gizmo, she loved watching the jets out of Nellis, watching westerns, stopping by garage sales and buying random stuff from side of the road vendors. She would send Tony out for a banana split at midnight; she loved her ice cream. She always said that family is all you have. She was a small lady with a strong and onery will and will be greatly missed.

Margie is preceded in death by Her Parents Palmer and Rebecca Cox, her husband Leroy, her 2nd husband Joe, her oldest son Ernie, 2 babies John and Lavella, her sisters Dorothy, Rozella, Maxine, Nellie, Wanda. Her brothers Ross, Gail, Bill, Donald, Albert.

Margie is survived by her brother JD Cox, her sons Larry Tucker and Tony Tucker and her daughter Tammy Cano, her 11 grandchildren, Rhiannon, Tiffani, Ryan, Jared, Tony, Timothy, Dylan, Irene, Maggie, Ernie Jr and Jazmine, 4 great grandchildren Kayleigh, Emma, Kaden and Jayce.

A cremation funeral will be at Las Vegas Cremation 5555 W. Charleston, Las Vegas, NV 89146 on November 8th 2021 @ 3pm.
