Paul K Wu

May 21, 1957 — August 28, 2024

Las Vegas, Nevada

Paul K. Wu, the son of Francis C. Wu and Maria Y.K, Wu passed away peacefully at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada. Paul was born in Taipei in 1957, the youngest of five children. In 1952, prior to Paul’s birth, Paul’s parents moved their family to Taiwan following the defeat of the Kuomintang forces in China. In 1959, Paul’s parents moved again to pursue a new goal to give their children a good education and immigrated to America. The parents settled their family of three girls and two boys in New York City.

Paul grew up in New York City where he attended Transfiguration Elementary School in Chinatown, and then Brooklyn Technical High School. Following high school, Paul attended the City College of New York and graduated in 1980 with a BA in the social sciences. Paul also earned a Master’s of Business Administration from Pace University.

In school sports, Paul was a foil fencer at Brooklyn Tech, achieving the distinction of City Champion in foil during his last high school year, and was a member of the varsity fencing team at CCNY. Paul was also an avid cyclist.

In his career spanning 40 years, Paul was a certified logistics consultant specializing in J.D.Edwards ERP systems, and was engaged in this capacity with many multinational corporations, including Nestle, Lender's Bagels, Pernod Ricard, Ametek Aerospace, Bellsoft, and many others. His career spanned many countries, including Taiwan and South Africa, and many states in the United States, including Pennsylvania, New York, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Arkansas, California, and finally Nevada, where he retired.

Over the years, whenever an opportunity arose, Paul would visit his mother, siblings and nephew and nieces, friends and classmates in NYC. Paul was especially close with his mother. Paul is remembered by his friends for his investment acumen, dedication to his profession, his sharp wit, and kindness to his nephew and nieces. When he was in town he often hosted dinners and fun trips to the movies for his nieces.

While he was a minimalist in his personal habits and lifestyle, he showed great generosity to those he cared about. He set up college funds for children of single parent neighbors that he was close to.

Paul is survived by his three sisters, Maria, Helen, and Margaret, his brother Joseph, and seven nieces, and one nephew. For contact: TheWuFamily888@gmail.com
