Raymond Robert Beranek

Raymond Robert Beranek, 82 of Las Vegas passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025, following a long battle with kidney disease and following a car accident.

Raymond was born in Chicago, Illinois to Robert and Elaine Beranek on August 6, 1943.

After High School he enlisted in the USAF where he spent the next 22 years serving and defending this country that he was so proud to be a citizen of. He served several tours in Vietnam, the latter of which he volunteered for. At the end of 22 years he retired as a SMSGT, Senior Master Sergent.

Following his career in the Air Force, he went on to work in the casino business. He spent 10 years at the California Hotel where he worked as the manager of the coin room.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Elaine, his brother Steven Beranek, and his longtime life partner, Patricia Dunafin.

Raymond is survived by his children and grandchildren... Son Paul Todoric, his wife Mary and their children Kara and Bryan. Daughter Daun Dertinger and her husband John. Son Steven Dunafin, his wife Amy and their children, Jimmy and Aeryn. Daughter Sherryl Wengert (widowed) and her son Evan.

Raymond's family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors, nurses and home health caregivers who helped him, especially the last few months. We would also like to thank his friends who visited him in the hospital and rehab/nursing facility, and the friends who reached out regularly. He definitely knew he was loved.

A Celebration of Life will be announced and held at a later date. Raymond and Patricia will be interred together at the Veterans Memorial Cemetary in Boulder City, Nevada.
