It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Renato Martin Cano, lovingly known as Sonny, who left us on June 10, 2025, in Las Vegas, NV. Born on February 2, 1950, in the Philippines, Renato embodied the spirit of resilience and warmth that he carried throughout his life.
Renato devoted many years of his life as a security guard at a casino in Las Vegas, where his strong sense of duty and commitment to others made him a respected figure in his community. He approached his work with genuine concern for the safety and well-being of those around him. Well-liked by colleagues and patrons alike, his approachable nature and friendly smile often put others at ease, making the bustling environment of the casino feel a bit more welcoming.
His education journey included some college, which laid a foundation for his career and values. Beyond his professional life, Renato was a devoted husband to his wife, Lilia Cano, and a caring father to his children, John Calamiong Cano and Agnes Marvulli. His love for his family was unwavering, and he treasured the moments shared with them. Each laugh, every celebration, and even the simpler times spent together were seen as precious gifts in his life.
Renato leaves behind a legacy defined by love, dedication, and a profound impact on those who knew him. As we come together to honor his memory, we invite family and friends to a Memorial Gathering on July 29, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Las Vegas Cremations located at 5555 W Charleston Blvd, Las Vegas, NV.
Though his physical presence will be deeply missed, Sonny’s warmth, kindness, and the countless memories created with loved ones will remain alive in our hearts forever.
