Renee Claire Simon

Renee Claire Simon, 83, of Summerlin, Las Vegas, NV, passed away peacefully of dementia on 25 February 2026.

Renee was born in Omaha, NE on 13 November 1942 to Clarence and Rita Gilbert. Renee grew up in Vadnais Heights, MN, graduating from Central High School, White Bear Lake, MN with the class of ‘60. Renee graduated from Globe Business College of St Paul, MN and started her accounting career with 3M. Renee later transferred to Los Angeles where she met her life partner Ed Simon. They moved to San Luis Obispo where Renee worked in the County Treasury Office retiring after 30 years. Renee and Ed retired to Las Vegas in Del Webb Sun City.

Renee loved her kitties and spent decades volunteering for various shelters, fostering and adopting many of her beloved felines. Renee was an avid golfer and enjoyed getting together with friends for a game of bridge or mahjong. Renee and Ed loved snorkeling and scuba diving and took numerous vacations to the Pacific Islands.

Renee is survived by Edward Simon, her beloved husband of 56 years; siblings Stephany (Gary) Flakker, Billings, MT; Adrienne (Philip) Kern, Hawthorne, WI; Perri (Steven) Eggert, Chaska, MN and Jeffrey Gilbert, New Port Richey, FL. Included are 14 nieces and nephews, 26 great nieces/nephews and one great great nephew. Stepson Jon (Vanessa) Simon, and their three children; Irvine, CA.
