Djouleta Manukyan was born in Armenia on April 20th 1947. She was the first child and only daughter of Rosa Grigorian and Hrant Manukyan, followed by her three brothers, Samvel, Ashot, and Vartan. She grew up surrounded by love and caring family. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her three best friends. She was a hard worker, graduated from the University of Engineering with a master’s degree in mathematics. She worked 20 years as a factory quality controller. She married the love of her life, Aleksandr Alferov, on November 16th of 1969. They brought into this world their two wonderful daughters, Sona and Liana. Djouleta gave everything in her power to raise them. She kept her family bond strong. She would take them to school, go to work, do the house work, cook amazing dishes, and even though they didn’t have much, she ensured her daughters had the best of everything. She was motivated, a go-getter, dedicated to her family, and strong willed. A gentle soul that spread her love and warmth to all those around her. Lending a hand when someone was in need. Without her efforts, bringing her family to America would have been impossible. They immigrated to the US as a family in 1994 for a better life. In her new chapter she was able to set up a comfortable life for her and her family. She started working in California to be able to provide, she went to school at Los Angeles City College and graduated with a degree. She was present and celebrated the marriage of both daughters. Which then led her life to include three granddaughters, Tatevik, Mary, Lynette. She took joy in being very involved and instrumental in raising them. Spreading her knowledge and love to them, always wanting better. Family was always her drive. Family kept her strong, happy, loved, and cheerful! Her commitment to her faith was also very strong. No matter the situation, she made sure she prioritized her bible study. She will be missed dearly. A woman who can never be replaced. She holds a spot in everyone’s hearts and memories that she has interacted with. Djouleta is at peace now. She was a woman of deep faith in the Lord. She is now surrounded by His unconditional love and light. May she rest in peace.
